Florence was the youngest daughter born to Frank and Catherine Freitag  on June 27, 1925.  She married her true love on June 11, 1950, Richard Robert Reithal,.  They spent their lives together in Mount Prospect for over sixty years before relocating.  Florence is preceded in death by her husband, Richard, who passed away in March, 2015.

Florence devoted her life to her family and her home. Her five children;  Roberta (Willie) Harris, Richard (Ana) Reithal II, Suzanne (Jim) Sims, Kathryn (Tom) Reithal-Makeever, and Frances Reithal.grew up with a caring, hard working mother who was a model of unconditional love.    Florence has twelve grandchildren; Matthew , Elizabeth,  and Mary Kathryn Harris, Erika and Adam Sims, Richard Robert and Nicole Ariana Reithal, Emily Makeever,  Alaina, Cassandra, Anna, and Daniel Cira. In addition, Florence provided home childcare for families in Mount Prospect showing these children the same love and expectations for manners, learning and nutrition that she had for her own offspring!

Florence’s devotion to her husband was unending and she was recognized as his greatest audience and support through their sixty four years together. Florence’s love of singing was only surpassed by her love of laughing, especially at her husband’s stories and jokes.  She had a competitive spirit when game playing and was proud of her early golf game.  Many people were the recipients of her beautiful hand crafted ceramics and porcelain creations. Florence will be best remembered by her endless list of common sense “rules” that continue to influence her family and friends.   Florence was proud of her country, readily supporting military service personnel and causes.
